“Image Rename It” WHAT IS IT? IRI is a user configurable program that uses a database of names that are then used to rename digital images on a regular basis in just two clicks. It is for people like insurance claims appraisers, scene investigations, body shops, real estate sales and others that take a lot of pictures and have a need or requirement to change the camera’s added name on a regular basis using the stored and configurable on the fly, database names to a name that better suites the image with a description. If you have a need to constantly rename your images using the same set of names then this program can benefit you well. Images having names on them show the next viewer a lot more about why that image was taken and what the person taking the images was trying to show or convey in taking the image. This program is user customizable to fit a lot of different types of image renaming needs.

For Example: As an auto damage appraiser, I was asked to rename all my images, sometimes hundreds per day so they made better sense to other viewers reviewing those images. This renaming was an undesirable and time consuming task doing them one image at a time. Imagine how that would eat deeply into your time, having to manually rename sometimes more than a hundred images taken daily, day after day. Camera images always get named something like SAM_1234 and these names do not depict what the images was actually for and those names made little sense to the next viewer. I felt for myself after spending large amounts of time manually renaming every image something had to be done to quicken the rename process. After searching for a program like this and not finding anything even remotely close to it, it was decided to build one. And thus this program was conceived. In addition to the automotive use it was built for, this program can be used by anyone who takes a large number of images and needs to rename them on a regular basis. You can create new names within the auto DB as you work and store them for the next time you need them You can also create an entirely new database of your own design and name and add all the names of your choosing. Your database name will appear where it says Automotive DB in the program. The tutorials page has the instruction video on how to do this. You can create as many databases as you like and switching to them is easy from the file menu, again see tutorials on this. This program makes renaming your images an easier and more efficient task!
